Canningvale Tips
We often get asked 'How do I get my towels to dry better or improve their absorbency?'

Here are some important tips & washing advice to help your towels do their job better.

1. First and foremost check your laundry powder or liquid, if it contains any built in Fabric softeners, DO NOT USE this product on your towels. Most certainly whilst you have absorbency issues DO Not add any Fabric softener to your final rinse water.

All fabric softeners will actually impede your towels ability to absorb and dry you well.

2. To assist in removing any build up or excess softening agents from your towels wash your towels separately from other laundry items for the next 2 washes (without drying in between) and try the following.

For the first wash: Warm Water

Add 1 cup of plain white Vinegar (not wine vinegar, cheap home brand is good) to the rinse cycle. If you have a top loader washer dilute vinegar first in a small bucket of water, or wait until the water level is high enough to dilute it instantly, or you may discolour your towels. If you have a front loader washing machine- add the vinegar to your fabric softener pull out compartment & your machine will auto add it at the rinse cycle.

Now don't dry your towels between this process, wash as follows immediately.

On the second wash: Warm Water

Add 1/2 cup of Bicarbonate of Soda to the rinse cycle, following same directions above.
Important do not add both the vinegar & Bicarb to the same wash at the same time as they do different jobs. The vinegar is an acid whereas the Bicarb is alkaline.

After the 2 washes as recommended above, tumble dry completely, then hopefully your towels should be drying you much better than before. Back to Top
